There have been repeated reports of the remote running out of power very quickly when left lying around.
The problem is even more pronounced for me, as I switch off my “cinema” completely, which means the UC3 runs out of power in 3 days (which is certainly not good for the battery), or I have to switch it off manually.
Would it be possible for the remote to simply switch off after a configurable period of time? And then switch back on again when placed in the dock? Or when power is applied to the dock, if the UC3 has remained in the dock, it switches back on?
This would ensure that the UC3 does not run out of power unnecessarily (when not in use).

PS:
Furthermore, there could also be an option where the UC3 is only activated at the touch of a button if monitoring would potentially save more power than using the gyroscope.
Can you give me some more information on how to configure this?
-What do I need for this? -I don’t have any home automation systems such as Raspberry Pi running on my local network. Is this a one-time configuration?
It is indeed the case that you only need to shut down the UC3 if it is not used for X minutes, before it runs out of power after days of non-use.
The other two functions, such as waking up the UC3 at the touch of a button, can be configured by setting the wake-up sensitivity to minimum.
The UC3 boots up in the dock both when you place it in the powered dock and when the UC3 is in the unpowered dock and then the dock is powered up with the UC3.
I didn’t want to set up an HA system to automatically turn off the remote. Is there no internal solution, such as an action that can be performed to shut down the remote after a certain amount of time has elapsed?
Alternatively, the developers would have to build this into the firmware (if they deem it necessary).
Another option would be a second dock in a different room only used for charging. Whenever you use your home cinema room you could take the remote with you and vice versa.
It may seem petty, but somehow it bothers me that I always have to carry the remote around with me/leave it plugged in, or that I have to explicitly turn it off.
If I carry it around with me, it could fall. With my cell phone, I solved this problem by never holding it in my hand, but always putting it in my pocket.
Especially considering that the power consumption in standby mode is enormous.
(15-18% over 24H, or without wlan on in standby, 10% over 24H)
Having to explicitly turn off the JVC is also very annoying, but I can now automate this via the remote control, although the remote itself always runs out of power…
Somehow there should be a deep sleep mode where power consumption is lower, with booting if necessary, or it should shut down after X minutes of inactivity (i.e., no iOS app activity either).
