I have been having this persistent error when trying to start my activity on my Remote Two. I wake my remote by removing it from the charger. I wait until the clock is replaced by my home screen. I tap the activity and most of the time it throws an error: There was an error during the sequence. The step where this error occurs is when it connects to my appleTV.
I really want to like this remote, but these types of errors make it hard.
What value is the wake up sensitivity set to? If it’s on the lowest value there is a known bug where the remote enters sleep mode again after 5 seconds if you don’t press any button or tap on the display. This causes integrations to disconnect and depending on your setting also drop the Wifi connection.
Hey Ralf, I’m not sure where to find the remote firmware. The system version is 2.9.2. Is that what you are asking for? The AppleTV firmware is tvOS 26.4 (23L243).
Apple changed some things lately. I am not sure if the integration is already aware of it.
Btw waiting for home screen is not enough. While the remote connects to WiFi and the integration it shows animation in the status line on top right. If the animation disappeared all should be connected.
No, it only happens with the lowest value when you have to actually press a button to activate the display after standby.
But as Ralf mentioned you should look at the top right of the wifi symbol with a cross or a spinning ball is shown which means the wifi connection is not established or not all integrations are reconnected.
The top right status bar shows the battery health and the name of the profile. There is no animation. I tapped my activity and it throw an error when turning on the AppleTV.
What’s strange is that the error occurs at the power on appletv command but the appletv powers on anyway. Is the remote waiting for an acknowledgement that is not being received, that the appletv is on?
tvOS 26.4 is not beta and should work absolutely fine with the UC remote’s integration. The only reported problems are when using tvOS 26.5 beta.
To overcome the problem (temporary or not) is to leave the Apple TV on and leave it out of your power on and off sequences. For the Apple TV it doesn’t matter, since they never actually switch off. Mine has been powered on pretty much continuously since 2017
