I just got my unfold circle and have been getting everything setup (harmony switcher). I am using the native apple integration and love media playback tile!
I am running into an issue when the remote goes to sleep and trying to use it again. There is a very long lag time after it has fallen asleep to when it is usable. Its due to it connecting to Wifi, and then having to connect via IP to the apple tv. Get. a lot of red banners across the top of the remote. IR devices do not seem to have the same issue. I want to switch to IR for the apple tv as a result as I think it will solve the lag issue here. I have found commands that work for up/down/left/right. I can not seem to get the rest of the IR commands to work. I have googled some hex for these but nothing seems to work. Anyone by chance have the apple tv 2022 4k hex IR commands?
Search here, this topic has been ongoing for a while now. Tl:dr: issue with the chip. UC team have an open bug with the chip maker. In the interim, you can set your activity to keep “always on” to force the remote to stay awake.
There will be a batter impact for sure, until the underlie issue will be resolved. As for IR commands, global cache or if others added. I don’t personally use apple devices so have not tested, additionally for me I am ok with the battery impact if it means no IR (As all my equipment is outside the theater room in a dedicated server room). So I have to use IP. on discord you most likely to find more help. It’s more chatty then this forum fyi.
Even if you use IR you will have the same problems as they IR signals are sent from the Dock by default that needs to reconnect too. You need to activate the internal ir blaster from the remote in settings/development/preview features first.
