Remote - Timeout WLAN after standby / and Doc ir-function

hi there,

is there any possibility to deactivate the standby for the remote3? because if i reactivate the remote3 in most cases, there is no wlan connection for a few seconds and i can’t control my apple-tv (for example).
sure, i can wait a few seconds, but if there are other possibilities to address this annoying “feature”, i am very interested in it.

and another case, could it be, that the ir-function from the doc is very poor? only the ir-booster works without problems. without the booster i can’t use the ir-function.

thanks!!

Activate prevent sleep in activities and put remote in the charger if not used for some time as this option is a battery eater. I cannot complain about the IR of the dock but my docks are quite near to the device

In addition to what HarmonyFan says below if you mean when no activities are running then worth trying turning on the setting under Settings, Power Saving, Keep Wifi connected in Standby. This works well for me. Drains the battery slightly quicker when the R3 is not in the charger but this is not an issue for me personally.

where is this function? i can’t see it under settings → power saving??

thanks i will test it.

Are you on System version 2.7.0 with dock firmware at 0.8.0?

To my knowledge there is no ‘power saving’ setting for the docks

i am on → Systemversion2.6.12 and dock firmware at 0.8.0

I think they added this setting in at 2.7.0 which is still beta

you are right, i misunderstood one setting

okay, i hope the update will be released soon.

You can obviously load the 2.7.0 beta system software should you choose to.

sure, but i need this remote and if there are any bugs in this beta, i have a problem. :))

Understood

one more question to you.

do you know what is better or is draining the battery more?
keep wifi connected or activate prevent sleep in activity?

testet and works like a charme. but if the beta firmware will be released, i will check the other option too.

I think that prevent sleep in activity is used obviously when you have activities running and the keep wifi connected is used when no activity is running in order to make the remote more responsive when you pick it up and want to use it. Therefore I dont think either necessarily drains more battery than the other but im not a UC engineer

Prevent sleep drains more but it offers smoothest operation.

at the moment i use the “prevent sleep” function and it does that what i want → when activity is running in order to make the remote more responsive when you pick it up and want to use it.

so i think, booth functions are good for my question. and it could be, that the 2nd function (wifi on) is a little bit better for the battery.

oki thanks
