What do buttons behind the image mean?
Reduce zoom then you might see the rest. Below the dpad in all 8 buttons are located.

I am using an iPad, so zooming is not really an option.
Doesn’t safari has an zoom option? Chrome on Windows/Android has zoom.

I am not aware of any zoom-feature in iPad Safari.
Safari for iOS has two Buttons when you tap on the puzzle button left to the url labled with a small and a big A to zoom. These should also exist in iPadOS
