Marantz NR-1608 volume control

Hi all,

I got my Remote 3 this week and look to replace my Logitech Elite.

I am not an idiot but not familiar with programming.

So far I managed to set up a basic operation with a Sony TV and the Marantz but I am not happy with one particular issue: The volume control works via the Unfolded Circle Denon integration and it adds/reduces volumes by 0.5 each time I press the button. What I am looking at is to keep the remote button pressed and increase the volume until I stop pressing the button. Obviously I want to do the same for the volume - botton. At present I use the slider integrating the Marantz media player widget but I would like to change like the above.

Does anyone have a tip for me?

Make sure you don’t assign anything to the long press button.

Then it will repeat the short press action when you long press. How smooth it will be is anybody’s guess!

@harvey28 : It is not very smooth as ups and downs are in 0.5 steps. It takes forever to have a decent change in volume. Is there a possiblity to increase/decrease steps in e.g. “2” instead of “0.5”?

AFAIK, no.

You can configure the volume steps in the integration setup. Just click on Start Setup again and choose configure selected device.

When I open integration and choose “configure” there is a setting called “volume level”. The value was “0” and the maximum value is “10”. I will play around with this and see what happens

I think they are % values.

No, the relate to db values. I’m not sure why 0 was set there but it’s not the default value

I have the same problem, it only shows 0 onthe remote.
Have you been able to solve this?

Hi Domdom,

I am still not satisfied with the setting. At present I use 2 as a value but it is far from being smooth. Will play with it a bit once it will be cooler outdoors.

Well, I am now using the HA Denon Integration.

Works a lot better than the UC version.
Volume is faster and smoother
