How to import Codes from ircodes@globalcache.com to R2 ??

This is from ircodes@globalcache.com:

i think i must convert this but how ??

I found this post helpful to convert codes from globalcache into the proper format (assuming you are using Excel):

Copy this portion to your clipboard

0000 006D 0022 0002 0155 00AA 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 05ED 0155 0055 0015 0E47

Then create the button you want and paste it here:

Select “Pronto” for the format and you’re good to go.

First of all, do not use a spread sheet program like Excel. Too many opportunities to mangle your .csv file without your being able to figure out how. I know, I’ve been there. Your code is missing the first line GC sent you in the email, which is the heading: function, code1, hexcode1, code2, hexcode2 (no quotes to avoid confusion). This line has to be modified to tell R2 which columns to read. I would tell you, but I’m not certain. There are many helpful posts that give the needed syntax, particularly from kennymc.c. (Not being a bastard and saying “look it up yourself”, I just don’t want to give you wrong info). Once the web configurator has successfully read your code file, the keys, or functions, become available to map onto hard or soft buttons.

I know it looks for all the world as if you need to get rid of the columns you don’t need, but just modifying the heading is all you need to do. I do wish the R2 “getting started” info were more complete in this regard.

so how to modify This for example:

function, code1, hexcode1, code2, hexcode2
“ADAPTIVE DRC OFF”,“sendir,1:1,1,38000,1,69,341,170,21,21,21,64,21,64,21,64,21,64,21,64,21,64,21,21,21,64,21,21,21,21,21,21,21,21,21,21,21,21,21,64,21,64,21,21,21,64,21,21,21,64,21,64,21,64,21,21,21,21,21,64,21,21,21,64,21,21,21,21,21,21,21,21,21,1517,341,85,21,3655”,“0000 006D 0022 0002 0155 00AA 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 05ED 0155 0055 0015 0E47”,

So, copy the email you got from Global Cache starting with function, code1,hexcode1,code2,hexcode2. Paste it into a plain text editor like Notepad, Emacs, Gedit, or whatever you use for a text editor in Mac. Change that first line to key, format, code. Save it as a .csv file. In the R2 Web Configurator select “Remotes”, and “+” (add). Enter a name for your device. Click on the pencil icon under “IR Data Set”. Select “Bulk Import”. Then point to the file you just created on your computer. For each button name in the Web Configurator for the device, you should now see a list of available commands, which correspond to the “keys” in the file you created. That’s it.

Back up for a minute: you are asking Global Cache for full code sets, right? Not just individual codes.? To get a full data set you have to register with them. It’s usually a very short time before they grant you access to full code sets. Select that, and they will email you the code set you requested. Repeat the above for each device.
